Apply To Become A Partner
A Strategic Partner supports The Teaching School to deliver its vision and accountabilities across The Teaching School Alliance (TSA). Strategic Partners do not have to meet The Teaching School eligibility criteria. However, they need to show that they have the competence and capacity to provide high quality support in a particular area, for example, Initial Teacher Training, Continuing Professional Development or Leadership Development Provision.
Strategic Partners are also Board Members who contribute to progress monitoring across The TSA.

School Direct Partners
School Direct is managed by a partnership between a Teaching School/Lead School, other schools and an accredited teacher training provider. School Direct enables schools to select and recruit their own trainees – with an expectation that trainees will be employed by the school or partnership of schools once they are qualified.
Alongside The Humber Teaching School, a School Direct partner school develops opportunities to provide school-led initial teacher training. School Direct partners should be able to:
- Take an active role in the recruitment and selection of trainee teachers
- Have a clear plan for teacher training, including:
- access to outstanding lessons and teachers for observation and planning
- quality assurance
- joint co-ordination of initial teacher training with professional development opportunities
Working in a Partnership
Joining our School Direct Partnership enables greater opportunities to share expertise, address the local and regional recruitment agenda for new entrants into the profession, meet the employment expectation of School Direct, and implement efficient management and administration of the programme.
