ITT Recruitment Continues To Grow And Develop
We are delighted that we have successfully recruited a large cohort of entrants to the profession following our 2019-20 recruitment cycle. This year saw the biggest number of applications received for the Teaching School with the calibre of trainee of the highest quality, in what has been a very ‘different’ experience of recruitment.
Helen Arnold (ITT Lead Coordinator) stated, “I’ve been so impressed with how the trainees have adapted and persevered during these difficult times. Ourselves and the partners we work with, cannot wait to get started in supporting the 2020-21 cohort from September onwards. Although we know this training year will be different, our core offer and constant support will not be. We’ve already been in contact since offering places to provide recommended reading and preparation before placements begin. I can’t wait to meet with them all again in September (via zoom)”
The 2019-20 recruitment cycle was drastically changed due to the enforcement of lockdown. These national changes prompted the Teaching School to adapt application and interview procedures, to still allow for teacher training opportunities within the Humber and keep upholding the high standards of support, advice and guidance that HTS and the local area offers. Had it not been for our extensive partnership working and collaboration, recruitment figures for the Humber may have been impacted. We’re so proud of everyone’s efforts to work together to keep supporting the ITT sector.
Special thanks go to Helen Arnold and Alia Waters for their unyielding support for all ITT matters. The region and trainees are lucky to have you!
